Spencer, Shirley Louise, 93, of Falmouth, Hants County, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on July 21, 1922 in Falmouth, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Willena (Wilson) Spencer. Shirley was well known for her photography, taking hundreds of photos of people, places, and events. She was very active within her church, participating in bible study, teaching Sunday School, and encouraging youth involvement in the church. Surviving is her sister, Dorothy Spencer, Falmouth. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Willena Spencer; sister, Elizabeth Spencer; and brothers, Harold and Douglas Spencer. Funeral service was held 2 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2016 in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home (902-798-2232), 194 King Street, Windsor, Rev. Rob Heffernan officiated. Interment was in the Centre Falmouth Cemetery, Town Road, Falmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley’s memory were requested to be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia; the Windsor United Baptist Church; Windsor Elms Chaplaincy Fund; or a charity of your choice.
