With tears in our eyes and love in our hearts, we the family announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Theresa Mary Rowe on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Ambrose and Sadie (Walker) Brennan.
She was employed at the Cape Breton Hospital for many years until her retirement.
She loved family gatherings, watching washer toss and having barbecues. Her favourite pastime was being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. And her passions were bingo and watching the soaps. Theresa lived a wonderful life and we were blessed to be a part of it.
Theresa is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Donald. Her children, Nancy (Ed) Brusdeilins, Sydney; Karen (Paul) Leterte, Grand Mira South; Kelly (Shauna) Rowe, Sydney, her grandchildren, Brianna (Chris), Brad (Nicole), Jennifer (Darryl), Paul Marcus (Natasha), Sandy and Stephen; her precious great-grandchildren, Lucy, Ian, Brandon Harrison, Eli, Leah, Tori, Alexandra and Sydney. She is also survived by her sister, Marion Stanovie, and sister-in-law, Jean Townsend as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her in-laws, Marcus and Carrie (Pinhorn) Rowe; daughter, Susan and great-granddaughter, Morgan MacKay. Also brothers, Joe and Tim Brennan and sister, Angela Napoleon.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016 at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Interment to take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, contributions may be sent to The Kidney Foundation or a charity of their choice.
