Fannie 'Faye' Fraser Howell, 84, of Victoria Haven Nursing Home and formerly of 54 Fourth Street.
Born in Glace Bay, Fannie was the daughter of the late Christina and Henry Forward.
We, the family, regret to announce the sudden passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife and friend. Fannie passed peacefully with her Victoria Haven family.
Fannie was a very social lady who loved to have a laugh. She was an active member of Unit 246 Army and Navy in Glace Bay. She served on the ladies auxiliary and the Ways and Means committee. She was an avid dart shooter and loved travelling to dart tournaments with her sister, Lizzie. Another of mom's loves was to spend time with Joe at their trailer at the Mira Water Park. They had many good years and made many friends around the fire pit. Fannie loved and was loved by her family and friends.
Survived by husband, Joseph 'JoJo'; daughters, Cindy (Soroush), Bonnie (Allie), Heather (Donald), Shelley (Raymond); son, Henry (Jane); stepchildren, Chris, Leann, Stephen, Gail, Annette, Shauna.
Fannie has 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Henry (Elaine) Forward, River John, N.S.
Besides her parents, Fannie was predeceased by daughter, Gloria (Ginger) McNeil and a son, Reggie in infancy; brother, John and sisters, Lizzie and Annie.
Visitation for Fannie will be on Monday, Jan. 11, from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, from 12-2 p.m. at Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St. A funeral service will be celebrated 2 p.m. in Curry’s Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev Vernon Reid will be officiating.
