It is with heavy hearts the family announce the sudden passing of Neil Charles Sampson, age 69, on Jan. 8, 2016 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with his loving family at his side.
Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Jerome 'Jerry' and Marcella (MacPherson) Sampson.
Neil worked for Kodak as a superintendent and CBC Corp. both in Ontario. After retirement, he returned home to drive taxi and recently worked as commissionaires at the New Waterford Hospital. He liked playing cards, darts and was an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays.
Neil is survived by his children, Neil Jr., Nelson (Joclyn) and Charles 'Chuckie’ (Loretta); daughter Roberta, all of Ontario; sisters, Sally (Jackie), Diane and Beverley; brothers, Harvey and Billy. He is also survived by his loving granddaughters, Hayley, Jonel, Natalie, Abby and Emily as well as two special goddaughters, Corinna and Amie.
Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by twin grandsons in infancy.
Cremation has taken place and a chapel service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Deacon Leo Penny officiating. Interment in St. Michael's Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the KOC Hall, Plummer Avenue. All are welcome.
