George Henry Scheirer
January 25, 1932 – January 6, 2016

George Henry Scheirer was born January 25, 1932, in Lemberg, Saskatchewan, and passed away peacefully January 6, 2016, at Pineview Terrace Lodge in Prince Albert. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. George is survived by his three sons, Jeff (Charlene), and their children Kristen (Joe), Kimberly (John), and Kaitlyn; Gerald (Beverly), and their children Christopher and Donovan; Allan (Lizabeth), and their children Erin, Joseph, and Liam. George is also survived by his brother-in-law Lloyd Masur and sister-in-law Judy Masur, and their children Bruce and Joan. George was predeceased by his mother Emilie; father Samuel, and blended family of 16 brothers and sisters, of whom he was the youngest. In 1964 George moved his young family to Inuvik, NWT where he worked for Northern Health and Welfare. In 1969 he moved us to Edmonton where he studied Dental Laboratory Technology. After graduating in 1971, we moved to Prince Albert where Dad began a long and rewarding career as a dental laboratory owner and dental technician. George loved the profession, especially the camaraderie and company of the people he had the good fortune to meet, many becoming lifelong friends. George was a great story teller, as his fishing buddies will attest to. He enjoyed watching the Riders play, and wore green as often as he could. He enjoyed playing cards, potluck suppers, and playing guitar with the residents of Connaught Village where he lived for several years. George worked tirelessly at Carlton Dental Laboratory with Jeff and Charlene until March 7, 2014 when his health would not allow him to continue. Special thanks to the staff at Pineview Terrace Lodge for the exceptional care and compassion shown to George. During his time there he considered it his home and was always comfortable and happy. Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with The Reverend Dr. Norbert Haukenfrers officiating.
