It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Russell Gill announce his passing on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility at the age of 83 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Tony Gill (Michelle Skinner), Kippens, Christine Gill (James Haynes), Clarenville, Katherine Gill (the late Mark Basha), Corner Brook, Angela Gill (Jon Young), Deer Lake and Melanie Gill (Andrew McDonnell), Oakville, ON; grandchildren: Abe Gill (Sammie Easton), Mitchell Gillis, Kristopher Gillis, Benjamin Basha, Mallory Basha, Phoebe Gill, Adam Gill, Rory McDonnell and John Philip McDonnell; great-grandchildren: Owen and Zoey; as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Lena Gill, son-in-law Mark Basha, sister Betsy Gill, brothers Richard Gill and Reginald Gill, parents Abram and Audrey Gill. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. The funeral service will be held on January 15 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Jeffrey’s with Rev. Kris Gosse officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Robinsons. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
