It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Alice Chipman, 85, on Friday, Jan. 15, 2016 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Cora (Belbin) Chipman.
Alice was a baker until her retirement.
She is survived by her daughter, Cora (Willard) MacKay, Sydney; her grandchildren, Ronnie (Carol) MacKay, Sarah MacKay, Kent (Shauna) MacKay, all of Sydney; her precious great-grandchildren, Craig Arthur (Courtney), Kohlton, Carter, Kailey, Cameron, Mikayla, Brenna and Landon.
She is also survived by sister-in-law, Helen Chipman, N.B.; brother, Malcolm (Judy) Chipman, Calgary.
Alice was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Maude Chipman; sister, Annie; brothers, Earl and Charlie.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016 at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home from 6-7 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 7 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
