NELSON, Arthur Cussimere “Skip”-age 82, of Yarmouth, NS passed away on January 13, 2016 at home. Born in Yarmouth on May 13, 1933 he was the son of the late William Robert and Alice Anne (Morton) Nelson. Arthur was a member of the Royal Canadian Army, he retired as a Warrant Officer in the Auxillary of the 84th Artillery in Yarmouth. He was a former employee of the Cosmos Imperial Mill as Lab Tech, former employee of Hudson Bay Wholesalers, bookkeeper for the Clipper Ship Tavern and Red Knight. He is survived by daughter Ann Nelson (Jim), Yarmouth; son Arthur Jr. “Casey” (Kirstin), Yarmouth; and daughter Patricia Rymer; sister Patricia (Joseph) Clairmont, Yarmouth; half brother William “Bill” (Tania) Nelson, Conklin, Alberta;, and half sister Wanda Fitzgerald; 4 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Arthur was predeceased by half brothers William Robert Nelson and Stephen Robert Nelson. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. No visitation by family request. A memorial service was held at Sweeny's Funeral Chapel on Monday January 18, 2016 at 2 p.m., Mr. Reverend Deacon Stephen Bourque officiated. Interment followed in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory may be made to the NS Heart and Stroke Foundation.
