Cross, G. Bernice, 76 of the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow formerly of Willow Avenue passed away January 16, 2016 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in NL she was a daughter of the late James and Elizabeth(Janes)Downton.
Bernice was a resident of New Glasgow since 1974 where she was a member of St. George’s Anglican Church.
Bernice enjoyed volunteering, serving as a Sunday School Teacher, active with various ladies church groups, also with the Y-Minettes for many years as well as she worked at various musical festivals and other charitable organizations.
She will be fondly remembered by the “Coffee Girls” from MacDonald’s.
A special thanks to Sister Mary MacDonald for all her comfort towards Bernice.
She is survived by her Husband Bill, New Glasgow; sons Bill Jr., his children Alex and Emily, Stephen(Rhona), their children Brendon and Haley, a daughter Nancy(Dr. Kevin)MacLeod; a sister Louise Coffin, special friend for over 60 years Jeanette(Murphy) MacDonald, Truro.
She was predeceased by brothers Ray and Chesley, a sister Audrey, a brother-in-law Rev. Owen Coffin.
Cremation to take place. There will be no visitation by request of the family. A memorial service will be held on a day and time to be announced.
Donations in memory of Bernice may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
