DAVIS, Edythe Lorraine - Age 87, passed away peacefully with her husband, Clarence at her side on January 13, 2016 at The Meadows in Yarmouth, NS. Our Mom was born at Pubnico Head on June 17, 1928 to Martha Louise (Larkin) and James R. Murphy. She was predeceased by her parents and her brothers Robert and Lawson. The loved ones she leaves to miss her are her husband of 67 years, Clarence, daughters Angela (David Marling) of Raymond, AB; Laura, Wolfville; Alicia, Halifax; sons Graham (Joanne), Ottawa; Sandy (Cheri) Yarmouth, thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. While raising her family, Mom devoted countless hours to the church through her gift of music -- playing for Sunday school, church services, weddings and funerals. Mom loved good books, her flower beds, chocolate and going for drives with Dad. Mom was a caring, compassionate and unselfish person who gave to us a heart full of devotion and love. She always extended these wonderful traits to her neighbours as well as those in need. The family would like to thank the staff of The Meadows and especially those on Brookhouse. Visitation will be February 19, 2016 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Main Street, Yarmouth. Funeral service will be held on February 20, 2016 in the Chapel at Sweeny’s Funeral Home at 1:00 pm with Reverend Bill Newell officiating.
