ZWICKER, Robert Lee, 75, Sable River, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at home. Born in Sable River he was a son of the late Harold and Bessie (Hammond) Zwicker. He worked for Harlow Construction Limited until retirement as their “cement man”, and was a member of the Sable River Volunteer Fire Department for over 35 years. He was best known for being a back yard mechanic, working with iron was his gift and he could fabricate anything. Robert loved the woods and being outside. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his children, Donna (Wes DesChamp); Jeff (Tracy); Margaret (Dan Chetwynd), and Robert (Tammy Foster); 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years, Carolyn; his parents and his infant sister. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. A graveside service was held on Friday, January 22 at the Hillside Cemetery in Sable River. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Lung Association or the Sable River Volunteer Fire Department. A reception followed in the Sable River Community Hall.
