ROWAN, JAMES "JIM" VICTOR
It is with great sadness that the family of James Victor Rowan of Moncton, New Brunswick, make known his passing on Monday, January 18th, 2016. Jim passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 72. Born in Halifax, December 14, 1943, he was the son of the late Leo and Aileen Rowan and brother to the late Judy (Bob Cameron).
Jim started his career as a licensed mechanic and had a lifelong love of vintage automobiles. Jim spent most of his working life in Atlantic Canada for the Glidden Paint Company which he retired from in 2006. Jim enjoyed spending time with his many friends and family and enjoyed his retirement, wintering in Florida and cutting lawn at the cottage in summer.
Jim will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Lucy (Arghittu); his brother, John (Sharon LeBlanc); his daughters, Shelly (Carolyn Walker) and Debi (Cecil McLeod); and his grandchildren, Ben, Max and Jesse who will miss their Nonno's constant support and bad jokes. Jim will always be remembered for his easy laugh and gentle nature.
Visitation will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 1:00 pm, with Rev. Charles Broderick presiding. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service.
