Leaving us with many wonderful memories we sadly announce the peaceful passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grand mother, sister and aunt, at the Health Sciences Centre, following a short illness. Pre-deceased by her parents William and Susan Mealey (nee Hanlon); brothers, Thomas, Patrick and William Jr.; sisters, Elizabeth, Geraldine, Marie and Eileen; and her infant son Gerard. Left to celebrate her life, her loving husband of 64 years, Vince; her eight children, Greg, Sean (Yvonne), Tina (Robert), Cindy (Dick), Toni (Jud) Roger (David), Andre (Mary), Cory (Lena); her fourteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; brother John (Leona); sister-in-law, Helen Courish; close friends Anne, Kay, Cliff and Irene; along with a large extended family and circle of friends. Bernice's family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at 4 South B (HSC) and the Miller Centre. Visitation to be held at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Thursday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Pius X Church. Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation may be made in her memory to the Parkinson's Society of Newfoundland & Labrador or to the Celiac Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador.
