It is with great sadness that the family of Aubrey Janes announces his passing on Tuesday January 19, 2016 at the Long Term Care Facility in Corner Brook, NL, at the age of 97. He will be dearly missed by his children: Alma Cross, Ford (Faye) Janes, Winston (Geraldine) Janes, Motee (Ben) Young, Jean Coles, Rick (Joanne) Janes, as well as his 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Siblings Jean Pilgrim and Lloyd Janes. Also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Bonnie, two children: Wesley and Maxine, grandchildren Brian Janes, Dougie Cross and Tony Cross, sons-in-law Timothy Reid and Marvey Cross, parents Maud and Edwin Janes, brothers Chess, Everett, Douglas, Doyle, Baxter, Ford and Oliver, sisters Ethel and Hilda. The family will be receiving friends and relatives on Thursday, January 21st, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Parsons Funeral Home and Chapel, 63 North Main St, Deer Lake, NL. The funeral service will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel, Deer Lake, on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 2 pm with Major Wayne Pike officiating. The burial will follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery on High Street, Deer Lake. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home and Chapel, Deer Lake, NL.
