Walter Vincent MacInnis age 88 of Meiklefield, Pictou County passed away January 20th, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Meiklefield he was a son of the late James W. and Christena (MacCulloch) MacInnis.
Walter lived in Meiklefield all his life where he worked in the woods and on the family farm. He was also a longtime employee of Hawker Siddeley Ltd.
He was an active member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Blue Mountain and also belonged to the Woodlot Owner’s Association.
Walter is survived by his wife Jessie (Fraser) MacInnis, Meiklefield; children Ritchie (Heather) ; Meiklefield; Royce (Kevin), Shemogue, NB; grandchildren John, Sayward, Adam, Andrew and James; 5 great-grandchildren; sister Christine MacDonald, Riverton.
He was predeceased by sister Olive “Ollie” Usher, brothers-in-law Howard Usher and Milton MacDonald.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Friday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday in Knox Presbyterian Church, Blue Mountain with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating.
Burial will be in the Meiklefield Cemetery.
