NEWELL, Lorraine Jane, 79, Volger’s Cove, formerly of Baccaro. Born 1936 in Baccaro, Lorraine passed away January 18, 2016 at home in Volger’s Cove, Nova Scotia. She is survived by her husband, Herbert Sr.; children, Nancy (Paul), Pauline (Frank), Wayne (Kim), Kenneth, Lynn (Kim), Allen (Kim); step-children, Herbie (Amie), Wendy; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Blanche (Fred), Oleta (Warren), Kathleen, Rachel, Gladys; brothers, Fern (Dot), Weldon (Shirley), Blanchard (Deb); and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Reginald and Nellie (Stoddart) Smith; first husband, Herman Brannen; brothers, Gerald, Lawrence; sister, Wanda; and step-daughter, Shirley. There will be a visitation held Thursday, at 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. in the H. M Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. Funeral service will be held Friday, January 22, at 2 p.m. in the H. M Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, with Pastor Jeff Peters officiating. Interment to follow in the Woodside Cemetery, Port La Tour.
