Passed in: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
Passed on: January 20th, 2016

It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories, that we announce the passing of a wonderful wife, mother, nanny, sister, aunt and friend, Sheila Marie Hall, on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, at the age of 57. Sheila passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax.
Born in Bras d’Or, she was the daughter of Rose and the late Alexander 'Sandy' Jessome. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish, Bras d’Or.
Sheila’s main joy in life was her family; wherever they were, she wanted to be. From reading to her granddaughters, to watching her nephews play sports and her nieces dance, she was always front and center. She spent many hours volunteering at different events in support of the kids. She was very creative and enjoyed spending time knitting or crocheting and helping her daughter with her beautiful cake designs. Her love of reading has been instilled in her children and grandchildren. She loved to travel, from taking her children to see Disney World to enjoying a short trip to Toronto for a Blue Jays game. She was an avid sports fan, even cheering on Team Canada World Jr. from her hospital bed.
She will forever live in the heart of her loving husband, Lloyd; her devoted children, Lloyd Jr. (Jennifer) and Callista (Andrew Gracie) and her most precious treasures, her granddaughters, Kailee and Mallory Hall. She was thrilled to know that her daughter was becoming a mother and she would be welcoming a new granddaughter in April.
Sheila is survived by her loving mother, Rose Jessome; sisters, Linda MacNeil (Dave), Carla Carmichael (Donny), Rosemary Murrin and her brother, Eric (Patsy). She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Mary Hall; her sisters-in-law, Judy Hall, Lynn Marinelli (Sheldon) and her brothers-in-law, Brian (Nancy), Wayne (Gail), Gary (Gail), Glen (Yvonne), Eddy (Donna) and her many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She also shared a special bond with her lifelong friend Debbie Blackie. A proud employee of H&R Block North Sydney, she will be sadly missed by her colleagues.
Sheila was predeceased by her father, Sandy; brother, Eddy; brothers-in-law, Mike Murrin and George MacNeil; niece, Shara Leigh MacNeil and father-in-law, Clifford Hall.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Poulos and Dr. Peltekian and his team for their years of care, and to the nursing staff at the Victoria General Hospital.
Visitation for Sheila Hall will be held on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or, with Fr. Peter McLeod officiating. A reception will be held in the parish hall following the service.
In Sheila’s memory, the family asks that you discuss the importance of organ donation with your families.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com.
“If love could have saved you,
you would have lived forever.”
