Nellie Corey

COREY, NELLIE IRENE
Nellie I. Corey of Fredericton, NB and formerly of Nackawic, NB passed away at Shannex Thomas Hall on January 21, 2016. Born at Rossville, NB in 1922, she was a daughter of the late Ray and Margaret (Chapman) Morrison.
Nellie enjoyed being a stay at home wife and mother, and was an avid knitter and gardener. She was an active member of the Nackawic Baptist Church and the Women’s Institute.
Nellie is survived by two daughters, Janice Flemming (Dr. Neil), Fredericton, NB and Judy Jackson (Judge R. Leslie), Woodstock, NB; two sons, Vincent Corey (Judy) and Dr. Allen Corey (Sandra), both of Fredericton, NB; nine grandchildren, Trevor Corey (Melanie), Lisa Wiseman (Curtis), Greg Flemming, Darren Flemming, Kevin Flemming (Kim), Matthew Flemming, Melanie Pineau (Marcel), Jennifer Jackson and John Jackson (Lori); eleven great grandchildren, Brendan and Brianna Corey, Cara Wiseman, Owen, Liam and Jacob Flemming, Hanna, Lucas and Carter Pineau, Joshua and Jillian Jackson; a sister-in-law, Betty Cummings; two brothers-in-law, Gordon Stairs and Willard Boyd; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Ernest Corey; three grandchildren, Mark Corey, Elizabeth Corey and Mark Flemming; five siblings, Elmer Morrison, Shirley Yerxa, Lorna Shepard, Carol Stairs and Marion Boyd.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Saturday from 2 to 5 pm. Funeral service will be held at Nackawic Baptist Church, Nackawic, NB on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 2 pm with Rev. Jim Rhyno officiating. A reception will follow in the church fellowship room. Interment will be later at Otis Cemetery.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Nellie, the family has suggested the Nackawic Baptist Church or Otis Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank caregiver and friend, Kathy Hagerman, whose assistance allowed Nellie to remain in her own home for many years, and more recently, to the staff of Shannex (Brunswick Hall and Thomas Hall) for the care their mother received there.
