It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother and sister, Mary, on Jan. 18, 2016 in the ICU of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her family and friends.
Born in Dominion on Jan. 6, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Anselmo and Sarah (Manzine) Polegato.
Mary is survived by her loving husband. James Donovan; daughter, Linda Donovan-Chishlett; sisters. Philomena (David) Kendall, Anita (Billy) MacVicar, Margie (Willie) MacLean; brother, Harold Polegato and best friend, Anita Gilmet.
She was predeceased by brothers, Virgilio and Ernie Polegato; daughter, Lori Donovan; one daughter in infancy and son-in-law, David Chislett.
Mary 'Tishie' enjoyed spending her time at home caring for her family especially her daughter Lori until her passing. She always had her door open and would welcome anyone in for a drink and food.
Service will take place at Patten Funeral Home, Union Street, Glace Bay on Monday, Jan. 25, 2016 at 2 p.m. Cremation has taken place.
Many thanks to the staff of the ICU for the wonderful care they provided and thank you to Drs. Wong, Anjari, Wilkes and Dr. Rent. Words cannot express how thankful we are for all of you.
