Annie “Devessa” Blair
June 11, 1924 – January 20, 2016

Devessa is survived by one sister Rena Boese of Three Hills, AB; one brother George “Victor” Lyons of Winnipeg, MB; her step-daughter Brenda (Ken) Ardrey & their children David (Heather) & children Meg & Charlie; Ryan (Thea) & child Allister; Jonathon (Alison) and Christine Butsch (Joe); a step-son David (Lori) Blair and their child Cory; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents George Lewis Lyons and Alta Arena (Rawn) Lyons; her husband Leonard Blair; her brothers Truman Lyons and Harry Lyons; her sisters Gwendoline Lyons, Marie Brunsdon, Thelma Stead and Ella Holmen; her sister-in-law Eva Lyons (Victor) and her brothers-in-law Alf Stickle (Rena), George Boese (Rena), Korey Holmen (Ella), Clyde Stead (Thelma) and Cyril Brunsden (Marie). Devessa was born on a farm in Shellbrook and went to school in Parkview and Deer Ridge. Following school she joined the Salvation Army and for many years served her Lord moving where she was needed. She followed this by being a housemother at a school in Red Deer, AB. She came to Prince Albert and became a Secretary to Dr. Ho (radiologist). She bought a small shop in Saskatoon and made many beautiful flower arrangements and other crafts. Devessa then returned to Prince Albert to work at Elizabeths Florists. She met Leonard Blair and started married life with a readymade family. Devessa and Len travelled lots and did missionary work in many countries until his death in 2008. She resided at the Herb Bassett Nursing Home still doing crafts and painting until her death on January 20, 2016. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 - 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Gregg Rustulka officiating. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Herb Bassett Nursing Home, 1200 – 24th Street West, Prince Albert, SK S6V 4N9 or to Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301 – 2550 – 12th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1.
