Ralph Charles Hopper
Ralph Charles Hopper, 92, of Moncton, with members of his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, January 21, 2016. Born in Hildegarde, he was the son of the late Charles Weldon and Mary Martha (Leeman) Hopper. Ralph was a retired dairy farmer, having started farming at the age of 16. He enjoyed fishing, playing hockey in his younger years and spending time with family and friends. Ralph was a long-time member of the Holstein Association of Canada and the Moncton Holstein Association. He was known as the “Checker King” at K.E. Spencer Memorial Home.
Ralph will be sadly missed by his brother, Everett Hopper (late Maud) of Moncton; nieces, Karen Praught (Bernie) of Florida, Sherida Fogan of Calgary, AB, Kathy Leary of Whitehorse, Pam Higgs (Doug) of Calgary and Lisa Keirstead (Brad Watts) of Lutes Mountain; nephews, Larry Hooper of Charlottetown, PE, Alex Hopper and Chuck Hopper (Krista), both of Moncton; several great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Florence Hooper and Gwenia Fogan.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to celebrate Ralph’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 11:00 am with Pastor Denis Smith officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in the spring.
