ROBERTS, GAIL
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Gail Roberts, which occurred on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Bobby’s Hospice after a long battle with cancer. Born 1958 in Saint John she was the daughter of the late Harold Sr. and Dorothy (Long) Roberts.
She is survived by her daughters Jennifer Meekins and Angela (Nathan) Rahn; brothers Harold Jr. and Eldon “Oupie” (Karen); a sister Bonnie Beyea (the late Stephen); one grandchild Oliver Rahn; nephews Andrew Roberts, Aaron and Raymond Bolduc; niece Kasey Roberts; some very special people in her life, Riley Thibodeau and her best bud, the late Bonnie Moyer; special friend Donnie LaKing and her children’s father Gerald Meekins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister in infancy Lynn Lorraine.
Gail worked in various jobs over the years including Banquet Manager at UNB and the Falls Split Rock Restaurant. Gail loved children and spent many years volunteering as president of the Morna Heights Home & School and KBM Community Centre. As a young girl she studied many years with the Royal Academy of Dancing. She was honoured in 2004 with a merit award for citizen of the year.
Following cremation, visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date.
