Goggin, Robert Murray
It is with extremely heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Robert Murray Goggin of Fredericton, NB, on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Bob was born on June 17, 1951, in Moncton, NB, to the late Murray and Frances (Parlee) Goggin.
Bob worked for thirty seven years in various sections of the NB Department of Agriculture, retiring in 2011 as the General Manager of the Farm Products Commission. His career led him around the globe to such places as Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Guyana and a three year posting as financial controller of the Malawi Dairy Industry in Lilongwe, Malawi in Africa. His love of travel continued into retirement with vacation stays in Portugal, Cuba, Spain and a Caribbean cruise.
Bob was actively involved with the Capital and now Progressive Credit Union as a member of the Board of Directors. He was an avid outdoorsman with a love of fishing, hunting, camping, golfing, canoeing the St Croix River and made his summer home at TNT Campgrounds in Coles Island, NB. Anything to spend time with friends and family and be outdoors!
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Marielle and two children, Kristine (Nick Morris) and Daniel; two grandchildren, Emily and Jack; sisters, Susan (Bill) and Janet; brothers, John (Linda), Ken (Mary) and Stephen (Michelle); mother-in-law, Solange Levesque; sisters-in-law, Jackie Daigle and Jeanine Oullette (Maurice); brother-in-law, Donald Levesque (Adam); as well as many adored nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bob is predeceased by his father-in-law, Pierre “Pit” Levesque; brothers-in-law, Maurice Daigle, Jerry Miller and Doug Robinson and sisters-in-law, Bonnie Goggin and Carole Levesque.
Visitation will take place at McAdam’s Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton, on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Celebration of Life will take place at St. Dunstan’s Catholic Church, 120 Regent Street, Fredericton, on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at 3:00 pm with a reception following at the Monsignor Boyd Family Centre.
