Robert  MacKay

Robert “Bob” MacLean MacKay age 87 of Stellarton passed away January 24, 2016 in the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow.
Born in Plymouth he was a son of the late Albert and Valerie (Stewart) MacKay. Bob was born and raised on River Road, Plymouth. He was a proud CN employee for over 44 years. Family and friends were of greatest importance to Bob. He enjoyed camping and travelling with his family and was a member of the South End Dart League.
He is survived by his wife the former Katherine Skidmore, Stellarton; son Carl (Missy) MacKay, North River; daughter Lori (Glenn) MacDonald, Egerton; grandchildren Sarah, Jillian, Erin, Ryan, Cameron, Emily, Riley, Laine, and Raegan; 3 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Cheryl; brother Lloyd (Bev), Ontario; sisters-in-law Joan MacKay; Moncton; Annie MacCulloch, Riverton; brother-in-law Bud Crittenden; Sydney.
Besides his parents Bob was predeceased by his son Allan and brother Stewart.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Wednesday in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton.
Memorial service will be held at 11 am on Thursday in Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury and Rev. Darlene Jewers officiating.
A reception will follow in the church hall.
Burial will be in Christ Anglican Cemetery.
Family flowers only.
Donations in memory of Bob may be made to Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton, the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of your choice.
The family would like to thank the staff at Glen Haven Manor for the excellent care Bob received.
