Hillside - Marilyn Isabel MacArthur, age 61, of Hillside, formerly of New Glasgow, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital, Palliative Care Unit. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Ted and Patricia (Rogers) McCann. Marilyn enjoyed many hobbies in her life, cards, bingo and the friendship of many as a member of the 55 Club and Steeltown Friendly Group. She was a volunteer with the Children’s Wish Foundation. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy (Roland) Baker, Liscomb; son, Alfred (Shana) Langley, Truro; grandchildren: Jonathan, Alana, Brittany, Haley and Olivia; sisters: Bernadette (Billy) Rector, Linacy; Patricia Brow, Stellarton; brothers: Sam (Rowenia) McCann, PEI; Tom (Joan) McCann, Pettawawa, ON; nieces and nephews; special friend, Lillian Gredzen. She was predeceased by husband, James Arthur MacArthur, infant son, Harry Alexander Langley, brother, Ross. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Funeral mass 2 pmThursday in Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow, with Father Tom MacNeil officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date.
