Alice Surette

SURETTE, ALICE E. (CLARK) (SHIRLEY)
1963 – 2016
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alice (Clark) (Shirley) Surette, 52, of Lakeville, at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, January 25, 2016, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Minto, Alice was the biological daughter of the late Verral and Mae (West) Clark and the chosen daughter of Margaret Shirley of Moncton and the late Kimball Shirley.
Alice attended NB Community College in Moncton, enrolling in the Culinary Program. After graduation, she joined 32 (Moncton) Service Battalion Reserve Army from 1988 to 1996. During this time, she served at the Oka Crisis in 1990 and was a member of the Battalion Association since 2010. Alice continued her culinary career in later years, working at the South East Regional Correctional Centre and the Wharf Village Restaurant until her illness. She loved going to the Wildcats hockey games, attending the Atlantic National Car Shows, walking her dog, Angel, participating in the Terry Fox run and just the pleasure of going for car drives, especially to Browns Yard. Alice has touched the hearts of all her family and her many friends and will always be remembered and admired for her kindness and her positive attitude.
In addition to her mother, Margaret, Alice will be sadly missed by her loving husband and best friend, Roger, of 26 years; her two beautiful children, Kyle and Ashley Surette, both at home; sisters, Audrey Clark, Donna Russell (George), Wanda Pasic (Mike), Marlene Armour (Norm), Sharon Shirley, Berdine MacLeod (Bruce), Lana Harper, Sharon Crossman and Trudy Ricker (Gary); brothers, Dwayne, Weldon, Darrell and Dwight Clark and Dale Shirley. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, who loved and admired her.
Besides her parents, Alice was predeceased by sisters, Joy Brown, Donna Lawlor; brothers-in-law, Shane Harper, Graham Stultz and Donnie LeBlanc.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
