Elizabeth Mary (Robson) Walsh

Elizabeth Mary (Robson) Walsh

Born: October 12th, 1925

Passed on: January 25th, 2016

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth (Betty) Walsh, who passed away peacefully at her Hillcrest Home, just as she wished and deserved, in her 91st year. Mom was a force of nature - positive, energetic, kind, witty, generous, and the absolute center of our family. Predeceased by husband Leo, parents Bride and Jim Robson, brother Jack and sister Belle Butler, and survived by brother Jim and sister Mary Fleming (St. John's) and Terry Prass (Sudbury). Also left to mourn are her children Doreen Noseworthy (Gerry), Zita Murphy (John predeceased), John Walsh (Rosemarie), Marian (Barb Lochhead), Brenda Clark (Wayne predeceased), Mary Elizabeth (Gerry Power) and grandchildren Kim Short (Robin), Cheri Carroll (Sean), Gregg Rollings (Wendy), Nicole Noseworthy, Neal Noseworthy (Melissa), Mark, Jeffrey, and Katie Walsh, Meagan Clark, Colin Furlong and four special great grandchildren Ian Carroll, Cameron Short, Haley Rollings, and Jaxson Noseworthy, as well as many nieces and nephews. She and dad loved life and made lifelong friends from St. John's, Mount Pearl, Sudbury, Florida, and many points in between - they were the life of the party! Mom was a woman of incredible kindness, deep faith, and service, especially to St. Peter's Parish. She was so proud of her family and was never shy to share their accomplishments. She was particularly proud to have made it to the big stage at Carnegie Hall and being crowned Miss Golden Years and Miss Congeniality (Mount Pearl). Mom was also an entrepreneur....Walsh's store was an icon and so was Mom...although her generosity (and our many friends) consumed most of the profit! She could stretch a dollar like no other, and she quietly shared whatever she had with all she came in contact with. We are so grateful to have had the love and guidance of our family matriarch for so many years. We cherish many memories of get-togethers, music, song, and dance - the ties that bound family and friends for many generations. Right to the end Mom was a friend that everyone loved to be around, especially her extended family at Hillcrest Estates and Masonic Park. We extend sincere thanks and appreciation for the incredible care Mom received at Hillcrest Estates and for the care provided by Dr. John Janes. We will miss you but will be grateful everyday for the gift of your life! We love you Mom, rest in peace! Resting at Caul's Funeral Home (LeMarchant Road). Visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 Wednesday, January 27 and Thursday, January 28. Mass of Christian burial from St. Peter's Parish, Ashford Drive, Mount Pearl at 10 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2016. Cremation to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in her name to a charity of your choice.
