ATWATER, Elva Isabel – It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Elva Atwater, aged 84, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow on January 18, 2016.
Born in Brule, she was a daughter of the late David and Edna (Heighton) MacLeod.
Elva enjoyed writing in her journal, she loved animals, music, gardening and especially her family.
Elva is survived by her husband, Ron Atwater, Stellarton; daughter, Karen Gaudet, Pictou; grandchildren, Crystal Gaudet, Melody McFaddin (Collin), Michael Stanley and Jared Stanley; great-grandchild, Bailey Gaudet; brothers, Everett MacLeod, Bedford; Merle MacLeod, Moncton; son-in-law, Bruce Stanley; daughter-in-law, Susan Thomas; brother-in-law, Reid, Allie and Howard; sister-in-law, Carol; former sister-in-law, Edith Fraser and several beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Elva was predeceased by her first husband, Donald MacKenzie; children, David MacKenzie, Linda Stanley; sisters, Violet Rankin, Irene MacDonald; brother, Stanley in infancy.
Cremation has taken place.
There will be no visitation by request, a private graveside service will be held at a later date in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, Sylvester.
