Edward “Parker" Irving, 61, of Hopewell, formerly of Mt. Thom, passed away on Tuesday morning in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow he was a son of the late Burns and Vida (Gwinn) Irving.
Parker worked many trades over the years and enjoyed woodworking, especially in carpentry with his son. Parker enjoyed a simple life, always humming and whistling a tune. His greatest enjoyment was being with his family and friends.
He will be dearly missed by his sons Steven (Tracy Johnson), Westville; and Roger, Hopewell; step sons David McGee, Eureka and Karl McGee (Crystal Munro), Westville and by his 3 grandchildren: Michaela, Fox, and Ace; sisters Lynn Fenton (Art), Plymouth; Carol Hughes, Stellarton; Connie Morris ( Al) Westville; Elizabeth Dietze (Clint), Edmonton; Afton Hart (Len), Edmonton; Shannon MacLellan, New Glasgow; and brother Burnie Mt. Thom; several nieces and nephews and by special friend Joy Gower.
He was predeceased by his parents, sister Fern and brother Fred.
Parker is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Thursday from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. His funeral service will be held at 1 o’clock Friday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Bruce Morrison officiating. Spring burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.
