Daniel 'Bud' MacDonald

We, the family of Daniel 'Bud' MacDonald, 70, of Irish Vale, regret to announce his passing on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, in the An Cala Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born Jan. 9, 1946, he was a son of the late Daniel MacDonald and Eileen (Donovan) Lewis.
Until retirement, Bud was employed with Sydney Steel. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Bud loved his home in Irish Vale and spending time with his cherished companion “Hobo”. He was a longstanding member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 138, Ashby.
Bud is survived by his partner, Judy Murphy and her family, Shane (Michelle) Murphy and John (Donna) Murphy. He is also survived by his sister, Hughena Morrison; many cousins, family members and close friends.
Bud was predeceased his brother, Mike MacDonald.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday, Jan. 29 from 2-4 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date.
Sincere thanks to Dr. Ken Rent and Dr. Bernie MacIntosh, as well as the doctors, nurses and staff of the palliative care unit and 4C of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Also, thank you to his family and friends who supported Bud during this difficult time.
