DONAHER, MARY LEONA
(1929-2016)
MAIN RIVER, NB – Mary Leona Donaher of Main River, NB passed away peacefully at the Villa Maria in Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Wednesday, January 27, 2016. Born in Saint John, she was adopted by David and Margaret McAuley of Main River.
Leona will be sadly missed by her five sons, Phillip (Joan) of Main River, Norman (Denise) of Grande Digue, Michael (Marilyn) of Bass River, Ronald (Lesa) of Bass River, Rodney (Cindy) of Targettville; eight daughters, Margaret Beers (Percy) of Beersville, Phyllis Cail (Bruce) of Harewood, Brenda Ryan (Robert) of Bass River, Virginia Beck (Gary) of Ford Bank, Judy Rodgers (Terry) of Mundleville, Hazel Donaher (George Archibald) of Clairville, Pauline Fazio (Rick) of Riverview, Pamela Beers (Kevin) of Bass River; twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by her husband, James Richard (Dickie) and one daughter, Patricia Joan Donaher.
Leona along with her husband ran a farm for many years. She enjoyed her garden and anything that had to with the outdoors, and her little dog Buddy. She also enjoyed playing cards and going for drives.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home in Richibucto on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm, Saturday at 9:00 am until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Rexton.
Donations in Leona’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
