It is with great sadness that the family of the late MARY BUTLER (Nee Brake) of Marystown announces her passing in the presence of her loving Family at the Blue Crest Nursing Home, Grand Bank, on Sunday, January 17th, 2016, at the age of 69. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are husband Don of 47 years; son Glen Butler (Dianna Bewick) of Alberta; daughter Nicole Butler (Wylie Hooper) of Marystown; her much loved grandchildren Stephanie Butler (Doug McKnight), Melissa Matheson & Jessica Matheson; sister Anne (Dieter) Steimecke of British Columbia; brothers Tom (Frances) Brake of Marystown, Gerard (Sue) Brake of New Brunswick, Bill Brake of California, Peter Brake of Marystown, Charles Brake of Nova Scotia, Gary (Laurie) Brake of Alberta, and Raymond Brake (Karen Legge) of Marystown; Sisters-in-law Karen Brake of Alberta, Noreen (Albert) Lee of Riverhead, Joan (Hughie) Gibbons of St. Mary’s, Sister Sandy Butler (Presentation Sisters) of New Jersey, and Mary (Roy) Fleming of Peter’s River; Brothers-in-law Koos Joustra of Marystown, Jim (Daphne) Butler of St. Mary’s, Lawrence (Betty) Butler of St. Mary’s, Pat (Gen) Butler of St. Mary’s, and John (Karen) Butler of St. Mary’s; large number of nieces and nephews, special niece Shelly Brake of Marystown; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents William & Anne Brake; sister Vicki; brothers Pat & Joseph; and sisters-in-law Olivia & Courtney Brake.

A special Thank You to the nurses and staff, residents and their relatives of the Blue Crest Nursing Home for the wonderful care they gave to Mary while a resident there.

The Mass of Christian Burial took place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Marystown, on Thursday, January 21st, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. Interment followed at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery in Marystown. In Mary’s memory donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice or flowers gratefully accepted.
