LANGIS, GENEVIEVE "GEN"
With her loving family by her side Genevieve “Gen” Langis widow of the late Marc A. Langis, passed away peacefully at the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home, on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the age of 91. Born in Newcastle, NB, Gen is the daughter of the late James W. and Annie (Whelan) Ryan.
Gen was a woman of integrity and honesty. In her younger years, Gen was employed with C.N.R. as a Telegraph Operator, was a member of Holy Family Parish Church, Moncton, NB, sang in the choir and participated with the CWL. She loved to play bridge with her friends and also served many years with the Elizabeth Fry Society.
Gen is survived by one daughter: Anne Wood (Thomas) of Victoria, BC; three sons: Marc Jr and Jamie of Moncton, NB and Alan of Toronto, ON; two grandchildren: Kate and Daniel Wood; one great granddaughter: Holly; two great great grandsons: Eddie and Austin and several nieces and nephews.
Gen is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Gen is predeceased by her husband Marc Sr.; one son Ralph; two sisters: Mary Bowlin and Catherine Cook and two brothers: Joseph and Michael.
At Gen’s request there will be no visitation. A public Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church on Monday, February 1st, 2016 with Father Tom Fowler officiating. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery later in the spring.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home for the excellent care and support that was given to their Mom while under their care.
