Wince was born on October 7, 1940 to Absalom and Elizabeth Chambers of Blue Cove. He grew up in Blue Cove with his 12 brothers and sisters Ruth, Stedman, Curtis, Stella, William, Virginia, Caroline, Jane, Wilfred, Sophia, Doreen and a brother from another mother, Absalom. Wince met and married Sandra Pittman of Blue Cove on May 19, 1967. They had three children Pamie (Eddie), Winston Churchill Junior (Cora), and Shawn (Caroline) along with two grandchildren, Liam and Reanna who he dearly loved. Wince loved being a fisherman, he loved music and playing his guitar. His favourite colour was green and his favorite hockey team was the Montreal Canadians. Winston Churchill Chambers of Blue Cove passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Friday, January 8, 2016. He will be sadly missed by a large circle of family and friends. Winston leaves to mourn his wife Sandra; children Pam (Ed), Junior (Cora), and Shawn (Caroline); grandchildren Liam and Reanna, and siblings Caroline (Ralph), Wilfred, Sophia, and Doreen. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at the Church of the Advent in Plum Point with Rev. Harold Harvey officiating. Interment followed in the Pond Cove Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
