BELL, ARTHUR ALDON
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Arthur A. Bell on Sunday, January 31st, 2016 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born in Juniper, NB on October 6th, 1922, he was the son of the late Jim and Margaret (Turnbell) Bell and the husband of the late Doris (Lowe) Bell.
During Art’s service in WWII he was sent overseas to England, Holland, Belgium, Germany and France. After the war he and Doris lived in Saint John, NB. They later moved to Chipman where they lived with Grampy Lowe until their new house was built and started having their own family. Art was a hard worker and provided for his family by working at anything he could put his hands on or had the knowledge to do. He worked at McVicar’s Garage as an auto mechanic and sold cars for many years. He also worked in Labrador, NL, and Cape Breton, NS, as the head mechanic working on gas or diesel engines. Art later worked at Avon Coal in Minto until he started his own business, Chipman Auto Service, before his retirement. Art will be sadly missed by his many friends and family.
He is survived by their children, Alton (Carol), Barbara Scott Dupuis and Velvet Perry (Melvin); grandchildren, Trever (Joanie) and Jeffrey (Misty) Dupuis, Andrew Bell, Sandra Alwood (Brian), Larry McKiel (Kimberly), Charmaine Case (Cory) and Michela Henseler (Uwe), Tiffany Cliff (Troy); great-grandchildren, Ashley, Alex, Olive, Liam, Logan, Landen, Joshua, Jacob and Jonathan.
Arthur was predeceased by his parents; wife, Doris; one son, Art Jr.; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Leeland.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 2nd and 3rd, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Velvet and Melvin Perry’s home, 443 Rte 105 in Maugerville. The funeral service will be held at the Maugerville Baptist Church on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Charles Harvey officiating and Rev. Aubrey Trail assisting.
For those who wish, memorial tributes in Arthur’s memory may be made to the IWK Children’s Hospital.
