Alphonsus 'Phonsie' McNeil died peacefully in his home on Jan. 23, 2016 in Anaheim, California at the age of 87.
Phonsie is the second youngest of Hector and Kathryn MacNeil’s 17 children. He is survived by his many nieces and nephews.
Phonsie was born on Oct. 29, 1928 in Glace Bay. He married Mildred Catherine Weatherby on July 13, 1954. After moving to Southern California, Phonsie began working for Interchemical, later named BASF, as a senior account clerk, where he retired in 1992.
The funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016 at St. Justin Martyr Parish located at 2050 W. Ball Rd., Anaheim, California, 92804, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Phonsie's life.
