1934-2016
FROSTY HOLLOW, N.B. –Surrounded by family and love, it is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Cuttar B. Fillmore announces his passing on January 30th at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Cuttar was 81 years of age.
Born on July 27, 1934 in Sussex, N.B., he was the son of the late Marion Ledonia (King) and William Milford Fillmore.
Cuttar retired from Atlantic Industries, Dorchester, in 1990 and then worked a short time with the Penitentiary Services, Armco Canada and Fawcett Foundry. In his younger years he was a lumber jack and an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and being at the camp. Having spent his entire life in Frosty Hollow, he will be remembered for his many rhymes and songs.
Cuttar will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Margaret-Ann (Marks); his two daughters, Dianna (Luc) Touchette of Westcock, N.B. and Heather (Reg) Stone of Westcock, N.B.; his son, William Earl Fillmore (Jim) of Moser River, N.S.; his sister, Martina Estabrooks of New Hampshire, USA; his granddaughters, Mary Ann (Shawn) Estabrooks of Centrevillage and Kerry-Anne (Gavin) Rogers of Petawawa; his grandsons, Paul (Marie) Lirette of Ottawa, Patrick (Megan) of Calhoun, N.B. and Kurt Touchette of Quebec; his great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alexander, Thomas, Rowan and Jasmine; his nephews, Austin (Janet), William (Ellen), Ken (Louise), Bruce (Donna) and Keith Tower; his nieces, Sharon, Dianne and Meredith; his cousins, George Fillmore, Leaman Spence and Shirley (Spence) Golden and by his special friends, Fred and Donna and Marlene and Eddy.
Besides his parents, Cuttar was predeceased by his sister, Inez Tower and by his granddaughter, Jessica Lirette.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). In keeping with Cuttar’s wishes there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. A celebration of Cuttar’s life will be held at the St. Ann’s Anglican Church Hall on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 1-4 pm. The burial will take place in the spring in the Westcock Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Cuttar may be made to the Westcock Cemetery, Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
