Sharpe, Thomas James, 79, Great Village. It is with much sadness we announce the passing of Tom on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro he was a son of the late Laurence and Helena (Hines) Sharpe. Tom was a carpenter for many years. He loved playing games with his grandchildren and also loved playing card games with the V.O.N. Home Care. His other passion was watching his favorite television shows.
He is survived by sons, Robbie (Heather) of Dartmouth, Tim (Donna) of Great Village, John (Susan) of Alberta, Harold (Patti) of Great Village, Greg (Susan) of Londonderry; daughters Susan MacLeod (Lester) of Valley, Norma Johnson (Doug) of Ottawa; 12-grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; half-sister Shirley Philips of BC; sister-in-law Annette Sharpe of Debert.
He was predeceased by his wife Mildred (Quinn) Sharpe; brothers, Bobby, Bradley, William, Charlie, Laurie; sisters, Lillian, Jean.
No visitation by family request. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home 55 Young Street, Truro, from where funeral service will take place on Saturday at 11:00 am. Reverend Carolyn Rushton will officiate with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in Mahon Cemetery, Great Village. Family flowers only. Donations in Tom’s memory may be made to the V.O.N. Home Care, Truro or to the Palliative Care Unit of CEHHC, Truro.
