Margaret Irma (MacKay) O’Hara
5 October, 1922 – 1 February, 2016
Peacefully in hospital with her three daughters by her side, on 1st February following a massive stroke at the age of 93. Born in Bloomfield, PEI, she was the daughter of the late James and Bessie (Walsh) MacKay and the beloved wife of the late William ‘Scotty’ O’Hara. Cherished mother of Mary (Peter) Maddocks, Maureen (Fred) Taylor and Margaret (Bill) Fowler. Loving granny of Laura, John, Adam and Kaitlyn. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Edward, Marion, Kenneth, Dan, Albert, Harry, Vance, Muriel Smith, Mary Cousins, George, Mysie Wishlow and Elsie Crossman. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Reta MacKay. Also lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Following the death of her husband, she returned to the workforce full-time and was employed at several factoring companies, including Canadian Factors and Boston Factors, where she was a highly regarded employee. She was a loving Mom, a terrific cook and an amazing lady who was always lots of fun. She is forever in our hearts. Private cremation. Her funeral will take place this summer at Campbellton United Church – the date to be advised.
