It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grammie and sister, Frances Geraldine 'Gerry' MacNeil at the age of 70, surrounded by her loving family on Feb. 5, 2016.
Born and raised in Washabuck, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (MacNeil) MacDonald.
Gerry was loved by everyone, she was a kind soul who made friends with everyone she met. Gerry recently retired from a job she loved at the Highland Village Museum, where she made many life-long friends. Gerry enjoyed going to bingo, card games and chase the ace as well as concerts and ceilidhs, as she loved music and Gaelic. Most of all Gerry loved her family, especially watching her grandchildren grow. Grammie was known for never saying “no”. Gerry was proud to be from the Washabuck community where neighbours are family and always there for each other.
Gerry is survived by her loving husband Jimmy Hector; daughter, boss and nurse, Juanita (Kevin); grandchildren, Curtis (Alison), Emma (Nolan), Carter (Lucia) Kaliyn and Noah; great-grandchildren, and her pride and joy, Eilidh Grace, Finley James and Paityn Everly; sister, Clare; brother, Roddie (Judy); son-in-law, Sandy; sisters-in-law, Josie and Sadie (Micheal); brothers-in-law, John Hector (Juanita) and Arnold; many special nieces and nephews, especially her little buddies, Cayden and Cason.
She was predeceased by sons, James and Sheldon and her loving daughter, Kerrie Lynn, in-laws Anna and Hector, sisters-in-law, Kaye (Roddie) and Sissy, brothers-in-law, George and Richard.
The family would like to thank her doctor and friend, Joan Salah as well as the staff at the Northside General Hospital for their kindness, care and compassion.
