With great sadness, the family of William "Bill" Youland announce his passing surrounded by his family at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, February 7, 2016, age 88 years.
Living in Covehead for the last 50 years, after his retirement, our Dad's passion was growing and selling rhubarb. Most people knew him as "The Rhubarb Man". Bill lived at Andrews of Charlottetown for the past four years and made a lot of friends there.
Predeceased by his wife, Marion (nee Shaw). Left to mourn are his children, Charlotte, Jimmy, Wanda Myers (Carl), Donnie, June Martin (Leo), Christina and Harold (Jennifer). Loving grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 11 great-Grandchildren. Brother of Charlotte Sabine (Dick, deceased) and brother-in-law of Claudia Gilpatrick. Predeceased by his sister, Ethel Mellick (Olman) and brothers, John Gilpatrick and Harold Youland.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from where the funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment later in West Covehead Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 4-7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of P.E.I.
