It is with great sadness that we the family, announce the peaceful passing of Gloria Barrett on Friday, Feb. 5, 2016 at home, surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Burt) Vigneau.
Gloria is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Keith) Nicholson, Sydney; two sons, Bruce (Harriett) Barrett, Colorado; Darren (Karen) Barrett, Ontario; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Eddie (Maureen) and Eugene.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by the father of her children, Dennis Barrett; sisters, Rose Fewer, Shirley Vigneau and a brother, Buddy.
A celebration of Gloria’s life will take place Thursday at 11 a.m., Feb. 11 in the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St.
Donations in Gloria’s memory can be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to close friends, Margie and Jeanette for their kindness and support, the palliative care team, RN Michelle Murphy, Dr. Jean Crosby, VON & Red Cross, and the County Homemakers.
