We, the family of Catherine 'Katie' Snow, 84, regret to announce the passing of our Mom on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Sydney Mines on June 5, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Christina (Coleman) Steele. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mom enjoyed the company of family and friends, and laughs were a guarantee. She had a great sense of humour, and enjoyed a good party and song (Yellow Bird).
She is survived by her children, Brenda (Jamie) Power, Garfield (Laura), Blaine, and Wanda (Darrell) Bond; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jenny and Jean Snow; aunts, Rose Steele and Edith King and many close and dear friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gordon; sister, Frances MacIntosh 'Sis'; daughter-in-law, Vickie Snow; sisters-in-law, Madge Snow, Elizabeth Snow and Georgina MacNeil and uncle, Mike Steele.
Special thanks are extended to Dr. Michel McKeough and Louise, Cape Breton County Homemakers, the staff at the Regional and Northside General Hospitals, Capitol Drugs, and EHS.
Visitation for Catherine Snow will be held on Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines. A funeral mass celebrating her life will take place Saturday, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. James Oliver officiating.
Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
