Robert Roland Vatcher Parsons of St. Anthony passed away on January 27, 2016. He leaves to morn his loving wife Beulah, loving children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents Jehu and Fanny, brothers Jehu and Freeman, sister Dulcie and grandson Steven. Robert was born in Freshwater, Carbonear on April 27, 1925 to Jehu and Fanny Parsons. He left Carbonear at an early age to come to Goose Cove where he spent his early years as a fisherman. He always built his own boats and built the family home. He moved to St. Anthony in 1973 and went to work with the Grenfell Mission. He worked there for 15 years until he retired in 1988. In his spare time he enjoyed going out in boat, squid jigging and fishing. He also loved trout fishing with his grandchildren. He was a faithful member of his church and loved and worshiped the Lord deeply. Through all the years he never faltered in his faith. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony, followed by the funeral service which was held at St. Anthony United Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30 with Rev. Dinesh Gomes officiating. Burial followed at the Fishing Point United Cemetery, St. Anthony. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.
