Bertha Winnifred Noble was born to Emily Jane and Harrison Biles on August 31, 1925 in St. Anthony where she grew up. On May 25, 1946 she married the love of her life Victor Noble of Great Brehat, where together they raised 10 children, four girls and six boys. Bertha Noble of Great Brehat passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony, surrounded by her loving family on the 27th day of January 2016. She was in her 90th year. She leaves to mourn with loving memories her children Rita (Bob), Don (Donna), Rueben (Ruby), Marion, Cliff (Judy), Dave (Shelly), Terry (Ann), Rick (Loretta), Gladys (Lorne), and Sheila (Rick). She was blessed with 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers Lewis and Walter (Ethel); two half-brothers Norm (Marilyn) and Ed; half-sister Dorothy (Ed), and sisters-in-law Bertha and Daphne, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Bertha was predeceased by her husband Victor, two infant sons, her parents Emily Jane and Harrison Biles, brothers Tom and Eli, sister-in-law Eunice and husband William Henry Cull, sister-in-law Doris Scott and husband Donald Scott, Vera Richards and husband David Richards, three brothers-in-law Pierce Noble, Eric Noble, and Wilfred Noble. Visitation took place at the Salvation Army Citadel in St. Anthony from which the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30 with Major Dinzel Baggs officiating. Burial followed in the United Cemetery in Great Brehat. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.
