It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Regis Catherine MacQueen, 91, of Sydney Mines, on Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, at the Northside General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Sydney Mines on Oct. 30, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Corkery) Campbell.
Regis is survived by sons, Wayne (Elaine), and Lorne, both of Sydney Mines, and Sonny, Alberta; daughters, Donna (John) Arsenault, Sydney Mines, Lois MacDonald, North Sydney, and Jacklyn, Ontario. Also left to mourn are her 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother Richard Campbell, Dartmouth; stepbrother David, Ontario, and sisters, Theresa Bugden and Margaret Pearcey, Ontario, Eileen (Roy) Young, Bras d’Or, and sister-in-law Florence Campbell, Sydney Mines.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband James MacQueen, sons. Donnie, Ricky and Ronnie, a daughter in infancy, grandson Wayne Arsenault, sister Lillian Matthews, brothers. Willard, Cornelius and Clarence Campbell,
stepsisters, Maude and Jean and stepbrother Clarence.

Visitation for Regis MacQueen will be held in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. James Oliver officiating. A reception will take place in the parish hall, following the service.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in Regis’ memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
