KELLER, Gary Wayne
February 15, 1946 – Moose Jaw, SK
February 14, 2016 – Calgary, AB
It is with great sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Gary Keller following his battle with cancer at the PLC Hospital in Calgary, AB one day before his 70th birthday surrounded by his family. Gary went peacefully with his usual wit and humor until the end.
Gary was born and raised in Moose Jaw, SK where he enjoyed a happy childhood; eventually starting a family and settling in Calgary with his wife Joan and their three sons. Gary was very athletic. An avid baseball and hockey player, curler and golfer, he passed on many of these loves to his sons through coaching. Gary worked as a salesman for Sleeman Brewery until his retirement at age 65. Then bored with retirement he took on a job of Safety Officer for the last 5 years developing and maintaining a COR certified safety program. Gary married Alana in 2003 and spent the remainder of his days travelling, golfing and enjoying life with her at his side.
Gary will be lovingly remembered by his wife Alana (nee Diewold); mother Phyllis; sister Sharleen (Harry); sons Brad (Tracy), Brent (Catherine), Kirk; step-daughter Cassandra; grandkids Jared, Cameron, Shelby, Austin and great grandson Riley as well as numerous other relatives and in-laws. He is predeceased by his father John and first wife Joan (nee Rogers).
