It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Esther Cochrane. Esther passed away unexpectedly four days prior to her 95th birthday on February 16, 2016 at the Regina General Hospital. Esther was predeceased by her husband Leslie Cochrane, her sisters and brothers-in-law Armalene (Ivan) Work, Mini (Gordon) Cochrane, Delores (Duncan) McPherson, son-in-law Herman Wagner and brother-in-law Barry Dewhurst. Esther is survived by her son Clark (Loreen) Cochrane, her daughter Arlie Wagner, her sister June Dewhurst, her grandson Jason (Jill), her granddaughters Marcy (Rick) Larson, Charene (Doug) Kozak, Lorene (Terry) Yuhasz, Debra Wagner, her great-grandchildren Kennedy Cochrane, Vanessa Yuhasz, Matthew Yuhasz, Jodie (Darren) Morrison, her great-great-grandchildren Burke and Liv Morrison, her nephew Glenn Cochrane and numerous other nieces and nephews. Esther was born February 20, 1921 in Marquis, SK. She met and married Leslie Cochrane and briefly lived in Moose Jaw and Disley and finally settled on a farm in Zehner, SK where they raised their two children. They moved off the farm in the early 1960's to a home in Regina. She took great pride in her work while employed with the Regina General Hospital, and the Army and Navy department store. In 1983 they moved to Moose Jaw where Esther resided until June of 2014 when she was moved to Assiniboia to the Prairie Villa Care Home. She was a very strong, independent and self-reliant woman. Esther was blessed with her good health and sound mind right up until her passing. Friends are invited for Visitation on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Parkview Funeral Chapel, 474 Hochelaga St. W, Moose Jaw, SK at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery at 2:00 pm. A very special thank you to the staff of Prairie Villa Inc. Care Home and The Regina General Hospital Cardiac Care and Stroke Units.
