BILLARD, Anne Marie (nee Rushbrook)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved Wife, Mother and Nana, Anne Billard on Feb 15, 2016 at the VG Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Devon, NB on May 8th, 1936, she was the daughter of the late John and Lillian (Clarke) Rushbrook.
Anne is survived by her husband, Vince; her children Murray (Charlene) of Cow Bay, Tim (Kelly) of Lower Sackville, Karen of Dartmouth and Kimberley (Kent) of Halifax; as well as grand-children Paige, Prosser, Kurt (Sarah), Katelyn, Tara and great-grandson Logan; by her sister Betty (Rushbrook) Burrows and brother Don Rushbrook both of Fredericton, NB as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Anne was pre-deceased by her brothers Bob and Bill Rushbrook.
Anne was an inspiration to everyone in her family. She married the love of her life, Vince, and dedicated her life to raising her family and sharing her love of life to all who came in contact with her. She had an amazing gift of wisdom, compassion and hospitality and she shared that gift with others, be it with her family or the many international students who were welcomed into the Billard household as family over a 20-year period. The family would like to thank the VON who cared for Anne at home during her illness and to the palliative care staff at the VG Hospital for the loving care given to her.
Respecting Anne’s wishes, a celebration of her life will take place at the family residence at a later date. Donations in Anne’s memory can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. Cremation has been entrusted to Dartmouth Funeral Home Ltd.
