Clayton Michael Dennis, 55 of 130 Spencer Lane, Eskasoni, passed away Feb. 17, 2016 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Jane (Battiste) Dennis.
He was a member of Holy Family parish, Eskasoni. Clayton was always happy-go-lucky, he loved to play cards especially 45s and was always ready to help families, particularly when the caring for children was needed; his door was always open.
Clayton is survived by his wife, the former Catherine Paul; sons, Stuart, Frank, Clayton Jr. ‘Magoo’ (Giselle), Timmy, Melvin, all of Eskasoni; brother, Lyndon; by his close friend, Jackie Paul; sisters, Mabel (Michael) Deslauriers, Toronto, Paula, Joyce Bernard, Wendy Francis, Peggy, all of Eskasoni; grandchildren, Cole, Norelle, Nikkiah, Jason, Kai, Zane, Francis; foster child, Baby Q; godmother, Mary Lee Dennis and two godchildren, Heidi and Mary Ann, all of Eskasoni.
He was predeceased by a son, Clayton; brothers, Perry, Stephen, Muldoon, Athanasius, John Noel and sisters, Lena and Denise.
Visitation for the late Mr. Dennis will begin on Tuesday after 7 p.m. at the family resisdence 130 Spencer Lane, Eskasoni. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church with Rev. Martin MacDougall officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery, Eskasoni.
